Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Has Been Shown To:

- Reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression

MBSR is an experiential learning program, intended to engage the mind and the body. The course uses a combination of techniques to strengthens one’s ability to experience mindful awareness in daily life, and to access the strength and wisdom that lie within.
Through group and individual meditation practices, mental exercises, discussions, and presentations, participants learn ways to cultivate mindfulness so that they can meet the challenges of life (including stress, pain and illness) with greater ease, confidence and resiliency.
The MBSR course at New Mindful Life is structured as an 8 week class, with an additional all-day session during the sixth week of the program (a total of nine sessions). In addition to the weekly meetings, MBSR course particpants will receive guided meditation audio and “homework” exercise to work on each week to strengthen their practice. The home practice is an essential part of the course. The MBSR course is designed to accommodate any adult, including those with serious illnesses, chronic pain, and physical limitations.
